Community Projects/Activities and Vocation
The Club undertakes selected projects to meet the Objectives of Rotary in local national and international communities.
An important objective is to oversee community projects that display RCMM and the work it does in the local community.
Projects/Activities Undertaken by Club members
Tree planting at the Briars ( Working with Osborne Primary School)
Australia Day Ceremony at Mt Martha Village: An event for Local People and organisations to recognise Australia Day.
Local School Projects - We undertake projects such as Landscaping, Building minor works and certain maintenance/improvement tasks, to assist schools channeling funds into programs for needy children where Government funds are inadequate to cover all school requirements.
The Briars - Nepean Highway Mt Martha
Construction of the Fox Proof fence around the Briars Sanctuary and Continuing Support -

Rabbit proofing the Sanctuary at The Briars: 5 km of rabbit proof netting as a skirt on the existing fence
Bird Hide Construction Balcombe Creek Estuary: In conjunction with BERG to provide a facility for birdwatchers to view the extensive bird life on the Estuary year round.
Clean Up Australia Day. We join with the Balcombe Estuary Reserves Group. (BERG)
Environment Week at the Briars - assisting with meals for presenters. Many Schools attend and take part in a number of programs relating to the environment.
Portsea Camp working bee. The Portsea Camp is a registered charity with all profits from general rentals being used to improve the site and sponsor disadvantaged children to come to camp for a holiday of a lifetime’. A wide range of groups now stay at the site from older adults to young children, from sporting to craft to artistic groups, from primary schools to conference groups.
Moorooduc Primary School playground works. Upgrading old unsafe playground equipment.
Sausage Sizzles to raise funds for distribution to local and international communities: We have a fortnightly sausage sizzle at the Mt Martha Village and also provide barbeque services at Cruden farm for Open Garden events, "Lets Go Cruisin", Environment Week at the Briars & Bunnings on a monthly basis. We also run BBQ's to assist others to raise funds in special situations.
Playground /picnic ground fencing construction and provision of seating: We look for playgrounds which would benefit from a safety aspect to construct fencing to confine children, we provide some general maintenance and arrange seating for parents and families at these grounds
Board Walk Construction Balcombe Creek: The boardwalk along the Balcolme creek between the Beach and the Nepean Highway was constructed by club members and has periodic repairs undertaken.
Rosebud Hospital : Funding of a Vital Signs Monitor for the Dialysis Unit.
Fencing and Planting - Working with BERG (Balcombe Estuary Reserves Group) to protect and regenerate native bushland along the coast and in the Estuary at Mt Martha
Visits to Workplaces
Pride of Workmanship Awards - Recognizing people from industry for their outstanding performance.
Talks by Members and Relevant Community People about their Vocation to create a greater understanding.
