MYC & Heartprint 4.5.26
On Monday we visited the Mornington Yacht Club to hear about the great things they do followed by a site tour. The MYC have certainly embraced the Container for Community collections! Thanks to Sarah, Andy and Scott for their time.
We headed back to The Mornington Hotel and heard from Wendy and Pheap from Heartprint They talked about the many things that Heartprint does in Siem Reap, Cambodia and the wonderful relationship that they have built with RORP and Rotary Peninsula 2.0 club.
There was no question about the gratitude they have for the playgrounds and Captain RORP, Wayne Jenkins.
We had a number of visiting Rotarians, a team from Peninsula 2.0 led by Trudy and Russell Poole, President Nellie from Rotary Frankston and Lyn who had come all the way from Ballarat. We also welcomed acting Mayor, Paul Pingiaro.
Favourites were the flavour of the night for Pheap and Wendy from Heartprint.
A great night celebrating the Rotary Overseas Relocated Playgrounds project in Siem Reap.
MHSN 14.5.26
Thursday night Anne and Mark attended an evening at the Mental Health Safety Net sponsors and supporters event. We were presented with a certificate and were so grateful for the update on the progress that Mick and his team have made with the Safe-Talk suicide prevention program with more than 3500 year 10 students educated with skills to recognise someone who may be struggling and how to help start important conversations.
Mental Health Safety Net is entirely funded through community contributions and support — a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when a community comes together behind a cause that truly matters.
