Rotary Mount Martha this week
from President Anne
Welcome to 2026!
Just before Christmas we enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Dinner at Donato's and heard an inspiring message from outgoing BGS Interact President Tin Tin (see link below).
We finished off December with a Bunnings BBQ supporting our midwives hit in Ingin which raised $2,140.

Balcombe Grammar School Community Service Award presented to Year 6 student Harper MacCallum.
Harper demonstrates leadership through example and her dedication to living the Balcombe Grammar School values, making her an outstanding role model and deserving recipient of the 2025 Rotary Community Service Award.
The Rotary Club of Mount Martha Citizenship Award recognises an Osborne Primary School student for their exceptional contribution to their community through positive character, service, and engagement, embodying qualities like respect, responsibility, and community spirit.
The proud year 6 recipient was Taj de Silva who expressed his sincere thanks to the Club.
The year started with a group of early risers taking down the Christmas tree (so much positive feedback about the tree) and our post covers. Bill Goodwin did a fantastic job at drawing up the street scape with all the posts numbered to make life easier next year. Many thanks to Susan Coyle, Mark Dobson and Anne Shaw for taking the lead on this project and to Mornington Peninsula Shire for being our major sponsor.
The Christmas baubles were part of a display throughout the village organised by the Rotary Club of Mount Martha with local support and sponsorship, bringing extra colour and cheer to the precinct in the holiday season. We asked house users their thoughts on the project.
These quotes highlight the community joy and pride people felt taking part in the Rotary Christmas decoration project — from crafting decorations together to spotting them around Mount Martha Village and enjoying the festive spirit they helped create.
“We loved doing this project — we had a go last year, and were really looking forward to doing it again.”
“It was so much fun getting together with our group and making these decorations — we really enjoyed every minute of it!”
“We love this project — and one of the best parts has been going down to the shops and trying to find the decorations that we made displayed around Mount Martha Village.”
“We also love how much the decorations brighten up the village and the house — it just makes everything feel more cheerful and festive.”
“And of course, we love Christmas

A new Containers 4 Community cage has been installed at Mount Martha Primary School. It looks fantastic with thanks to Rob Davies, Bernie Meehan and Mark Dobson
We enjoyed a relaxing social evening at Wayne and Jenny Jenkins place last Sunday. We sincerely thank them for hosting this event, and it was very clear that club members enjoy desserts far more than salads with an array of delicious desserts presented.
Our thanks to Anne and to Jenny for their wonderful cooking of the various meats on the night.
This Sunday we had the Nippers Carnival at Mount Martha Lifesaving Club with 650 entrants.
A dedicated team cleared and cleaned up Rotary House in early January. Ready for business!
The next big event is Australia Day and we are looking forward to a wonderful celebration with our BBQ and flag raising.
Let’s have a sensational year together and deliver for our local community and beyond.
