"Mount Martha Rotary is a group of dedicated volunteers who believe in service above self and building community. We are involved in a diverse range of activities that strive to improve life for others."
Last week we heard from Bernie Meehan, first his biography where he talked about his 30 years with A.V.Jennings, from apprentice to management, project management and then as chief estimator. He started his own construction business in residential development which he did for twenty years.
Bernie and Lindy have 5 children, Lindy worked as a specialist anaesthetist. Bernie enjoys golf, bushwalking and being a Rotarian.
We then had a fantastic double act with visuals by Bernie and Lindy where they took us on an adventure along the Portuguese Coastal Camino in May 2024. They averaged 25 kilometres a day. An amazing adventure and we know to take a donkey with us if we want free meals.
With breathtaking scenery and stunning architecture the Camino trails see over 500,000 pilgrims per year. The scallop shell is the symbol of pilgrimage and according to Bernie the scallops tasted excellent.

Balcombe Grammar School Interact Charter 26.11.24
On Tuesday we had the Charter ceremony for Balcombe Grammar, the event was a great tribute to Peter Wiltshire and the youth committee and to Rachel Gray and the wonderful Interactors. The opportunities that this will bring to these young people has no limits and our club should feel immensely proud that it has sponsored this Interact Club.
