Birth Tree and Family Garden 25.5.26
On Monday we heard from Dylan Tickell about Rotary Peninsula 2.0 Birth Tree and Family Garden project. This project is a real example of engaging with the community and building an ongoing legacy, it was the catalyst for Dylan becoming a Rotarian.
The project has been going for over 10 years with each year a tree being planted and a plaque with the names of babies born in that year. Each participating family pays a contribution and 90 percent of the funds is directed back into the community. It is a place where families and community can come together.
Dylan’s club directs funds back through the “every child can swim” program and to Peninsula Health Maternal Health unit. They have an annual community day which is very interactive with the families and community.
This is a project that I would encourage the club to explore through our project driven club process.
Dylan provided an excellent presentation on his clubs project.

RORP Update
This week saw “Captain RORP” Wayne Jenkins together with Russell Poole, and their teams, harvest three playgrounds from the Bass Coast.
These three playgrounds together with eleven others and a large seesaw are bound for Bougainville - with the tie downs planned for Thursday 18 June and the load-out at New Peninsula Church planned for Saturday 20 June.

Rotary Frankston President Nellie Tinga is captured in this video screenshot speaking about the 14 Rotary Overseas Relocated Playgrounds bound for Bougainville.
Rotary Mount Martha donations
This week we received a $5,000 grant from the Community Bank Mount Martha as part of their Mount Martha Stronger Community Grants.
These funds will help with the further funding of capital items for the Containers 4 Community project.
Rotary Mount Martha is deeply appreciative of the ongoing sponsorship of the Community Bank Mount Martha towards this project.
This week 1.6.26
This week is Committee meetings week and a reminder that the following week is a public holiday so we will not be meeting.
We are still looking for a couple of helpers for the Breakfast Club BBQ at Mornington Secondary College on Friday 19th June 6.30am until 9 am. Please let President Anne know if you are available.
