Australia Day 26.1.26
At the lifesaving club we started early cooking bacon and egg rolls for over 100 volunteers for the MMAD Swim at the Mount Martha Lifesaving Club
We cooked until 1.30 pm raising an amazing $2,563 for the Mount Martha Lifesaving Club
This amount raised was on top of the $1,271 last week at the Nippers Carnival …that’s a massive $3,834 which will go towards replacement Nippers boards at $660 each. They are an investment in our next generation of lifesavers.
Almost all of our members came to help on the day and that’s part of what makes the day special as we work together.
We had our elected representatives Federal MP Zoe McKenzie, State MP Chris Crewther and Mayor Anthony Marsh speak, and we had Tin Tin singing.
and an amazing crowd of volunteers and community members at the Mount Martha Flag Raising Ceremony.
We had lamingtons ….
… and flags and a great sense of pride.
Mount Martha CFA were present and on mass with their fire engines.
We shared a wonderful morning tea under the clock tower with some of our community volunteers.
We can be proud to be Australian. To fly our flag high with pride, and to be a part of the Mount Martha community and all it’s volunteers and proud to be a Rotarian. Our club has started this year on a tremendously positive note.
These Australia Day events were all sponsored by the Mornington Peninsula Shire, whom we acknowledge and thank for their generous support.
Bunnings 1.2.26
We raised a net $2,184 from the BBQ with $58 of donations - with $1,500 donated as ongoing support towards the School of St Jude's in Tanzania.
