From President Anne
What an amazing evening on Monday night, wonderful to be joined by District Governor Colin Byron and wife Leanne, the Mayor and many visiting Rotarians, partners and guests.
We started with the induction of Kevin Gibson as a new member of our club and welcomed his wife Maureen.
Welcome to incoming member Kevin Gibson
Next we went on to celebrate Nick Roberts OAM 50 years of service with Rotary Mount Martha. It was wonderful to see Sandra, family and friends come to celebrate this milestone.
Roger Annear gave a great presentation about Nick’s outstanding contributions then David Wheeler gave us insight as to why we shouldn’t seek Nick’s support on home renovations. Gary Sanford spoke about Nick’s dedication to making the Community Bank Mount Martha the success story that it is.
Nick was then presented with a letter of appreciation from Rotary International President Stephanie Urchick and a certificate of 50 years service form Rotary Mount Martha.

Our guest speaker was Jade Phelan, CEO of the Bays Hospital. Jade spoke of the new cancer centre and the support services now being offered on the Mornington Peninsula. Jade recognised the amazing support of Community Bank Mount Martha for the $600,000 over three years for the Wellness Centre providing free of charge wellness sessions for both public and private patients free of charge.
Guest speaker, Jade Phelan
The evening showcased the work of one man, a Rotarian who has shown us all what service above self really means. His roles in Rotary, Community Bank Mount Martha and the board of the Bays Hospital have certainly created positive change in our community.
Nick wrote to me and asked that I share with you his deep appreciation for the evening and the recognition.
This Monday we have our two newest members, Michael Jones and Kevin Gibson giving their Biographies at the Mornington Hotel.
Bernie and Mark installed a new cage at the Mornington Soccer Club this week.
